Alumni Affairs & Development (ADS) - ADS ensures university-wide policy, gift, data, and financial integrity. ADS employs best practices associated with University giving and donor/alumni information.

Harvard employees who require the full University Gift Policy Guide which covers issues that include endowment fund minimums, naming, financial administration of funds, establishing fund terms, and dealing with situations specific to particular types of donors, designations, or gift vehicles may contact  University Development Office at ADS@harvard.edu to request access to the internal policy.

The Office of the Associate Provost for Student Affairs provides resources, leadership to and coordination among Harvard’s 13 schools through collegial vision and shared commitment to the success of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.

Environmental Health & Safety - Policies, tools, training and resources around the operation and maintenance of Harvard’s physical plant, dedicated to the safety of University personnel and the protection and compliance of buildings and facilities operations including: building renovation, environmental compliance, environmental public health (food safety, drinking water, pest control, swimming pools safety), fire safety, occupational safety (regulatory/technical information and services to ensure the safety of personnel working, studying or living at Harvard) and laboratory safety.

Global Support Services and Travel Assist - Global Support Services supports and eables international projects, travel, and operations and can mitigate risks to the University and individuals and respond to overseas emergencies. The Harvard Travel Assist program provides 24/7 medical and security support and evacuation services to eligible students, faculty, and staff.

Performers Tax: Individuals who earn income connected with Massachusetts for performances may be subject to withholding on that income at the current Massachusetts income tax rate. Performers in the Harvard setting include lectures, speakers at symposia, performers (including actors, actresses, directors, musicians and professional athletes) and others receiving related service payments.

Harvard Internal Conrols (Key Controls): Harvard’s internal control program is designed to reduce risks associated with financial reporting through the standardization of internal controls across the University for material financial cycles. To date, the end-to-end processes for nine financial cycles have been assessed and key control activities have been documented in the following internal controls matrices:
